herein and the VetJobs Terms and Conditions of Use statement.
- VetJobs is an Internet based career services organization for the military
affinity market. As such, VetJobs will not sell the personal information
of the users of the VetJobs site. The information posted by users on VetJobs
is for the sole use of individuals searching for a job or employers, recruiters
and human resources personnel who pay to have access to the resume database.
Private information given to VetJobs by users is not for sale to any third
parties or persons for any reason.
- Information Concerning Visitors to VetJobs
- VetJobs collects personal information from users strictly on a voluntary
basis. This information permits VetJobs to provide users and visitors to
the VetJobs site with private and secure areas to post and modify their
original content (resumes and jobs) placed on VetJobs.
- VetJobs uses various software packages to gather information about
users of VetJobs in a collective sense, meaning VetJobs does not intentionally
target specific users. However, VetJobs may use software packages to trace
a user who is violating the Terms and Conditions of Use.
- In general, VetJobs collects information to determine what pages visitors
most frequently use and what services and information areas the users access.
VetJobs will only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate in order
to determine what services offered by VetJobs are beneficial for VetJobs
users, or to explain to advertisers which areas are best for their advertising
based on traffic patterns.
- VetJobs may share this information with partners, but only in the aggregate,
so that the partners may understand how visitors use the VetJobs site.
- General Information Disclosure
- Except as described herein, VetJobs does not disclose information about
a user's individual visits to VetJobs, or personal information that they
provide, such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, credit

when required by law or to protect VetJobs and users. However, VetJobs
may record and share aggregated information with our partners.
- Please note that if a user inputs any personal or private information
on a co-branded registration page, such as that of a VetJobs partner or
an advertiser who has a company-sponsored contest or advertisement on VetJobs,
then that information becomes the property of both VetJobs and the advertiser
or partner. In that case, the use of personal information by the advertiser
or partner will be subject to the privacy policy of that company and VetJobs
is not responsible for their use of personal information.
- VetJobs on occasion will employ other companies and individuals to
perform functions on the behalf of VetJobs. Examples may include but are
not limited to: hosting VetJobs web servers, analyzing data, providing
marketing assistance, processing credit card payments, and providing customer
service. These other companies will have access to personal information
as necessary to perform their functions, but may not share that information
with any third party.
- Use of Tracking Devices and Software
- To enhance the experience of a visitor while using VetJobs, VetJobs uses
a feature commonly referred to as a "cookie" which is found on Internet
browsers. VetJobs uses cookies only for the protection and convenience
of our visitors and users. Cookies are small files that a Web browser places
on a user computer's hard drive. These cookies are used for remembering
user names and passwords and preferences, tracking click streams, and for
load balancing. With the use of cookies, VetJobs can deliver faster service
and a more personalized site experience. Cookies enable VetJobs to serve
secure pages to users without requiring the user to repeatedly login. If
a user's system is idle for more than twenty minutes the access cookie
will expire, thus requiring the user to login again to continue their session.
- A user has the option of setting their browser to reject cookies. However,
rejecting cookies will hinder performance and negatively impact their experience
when using the Internet and the VetJobs site.
- VetJobs has advertisers who place banner advertisements on the VetJobs
site. In the course of serving advertisements at VetJobs, third-party advertisers
may place or recognize a unique "cookie" on a user's browser. VetJobs has
no control over this practice and is not responsible for any information
or the use of any information collected in this manner.
- In addition to advertisers, the VetJobs site contains links to other
sites. Users will be taken to a separate site if they click on one of these
links (i.e., links listed on the Employer Resources page and the Veteran
Resources page). VetJobs is not responsible for the privacy practices or
content of any secondary websites. VetJobs encourages all users to review
the privacy policy of any site they visit or to which they are directed.
- VetJobs makes use of log files that are used to track and monitor traffic
patterns on our site for maintenance purposes. The logs are not used to
track or monitor personally identifiable information.

- PRIVACY REGARDING RESUME SUBMISSION
- Submission of Resumes
- VetJobs is an Internet based career services organization for United States
military affinity market. As such, VetJobs provides candidates the option
of putting their resume in the VetJobs database, provided they meet the
criteria of having been a member of a United States uniformed service (Air
Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Merchant Marine, National Guard
or Navy) who is a transitioning military person, a veteran, the spouse
or dependent of a military person. There are several methods of posting
a resume.
- First, a user may post their resume and allow their resume to be searchable,
meaning that all employers and recruiters who pay for access to the VetJobs
resume database, and employees of VetJobs, will have access to the resume.
When posting resumes, the user decides how much contact information to
provide. VetJobs will use its best efforts to only grant access to the
resume by paying members, meaning employers, recruiters, hiring managers,
and human resource personnel and those VetJobs employees who have a legitimate
need to have access to the resume database. Please note that VetJobs cannot
absolutely guarantee that other parties will not, without VetJobs consent,
gain access to the resume database through the use of hacking techniques.
- Second, a candidate may store their resume in the VetJobs resume database,
but not allow it to be searchable by potential employers. This is accomplished
by checking the "Click here to put your resume on Hold" box in the POST/EDIT/REFRESH
RESUME section. Not allowing a resume to be searchable allows a candidate
to maintain a copy in the VetJobs resume database to edit, update or use
it to apply for a job online, but employers and recruiters will not have
access to search it through the VetJobs resume database.
- VetJobs offers free voluntary registration to those individuals who
opt to post their resume in the VetJobs resume database. During registration
the user is requested to supply an ID, Password, name, mailing address,
email address, branch of service, security clearance and items related
to their job search. This information is needed if the user wants to participate
in VetJobs services.
- Removal of a Resume
A candidate may remove their resume from the searchable
database at any time by deleting their information. However, employers and
recruiters who have paid for access to the database, and other parties who
have otherwise gained access to the database, may have retained a copy of
the resume in their own files or databases prior to the removal of the resume
by the candidate. VetJobs is not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy
of resumes in these instances, or for the use or privacy of resumes by any
of such parties while resumes are in the database.
- Updating Account Information
VetJobs allows candidates to change or
correct personal information at any time. This is accomplished by logging
onto the system, and going to the POST/EDIT/REFRESH RESUME area. Candidates
will find options for editing the information they have submitted. The access
to this section is by use of an ID and Password set and chosen by the candidate.
