I wanted to pass along to the veterans community that SBA’s Office of Veterans Business Development (OVBD) posted a request for Statements of Interest (SOI) for our upcoming Boots to Business funding opportunity on grants.gov. The B2B entrepreneurial development program provides introductory and follow-on small business ownership education and training to U.S. military service members and spouses (including members of the Reserve and National Guard) via the U.S. Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program (TAP).
Statements of interest are expected to provide insight on the potential applicants experience in administering entrepreneurship training programs by utilizing instructors with practical experience in starting, owning, and operating businesses to clients, specifically veterans and military spouses, in addition to those interested in starting new businesses or those who currently own an established business and are seeking opportunities for expansion or diversification.
Please be advised that the submission of a SOI is an optional part of OVBD’s program announcement (PA) process and for informational purposes. SOIs must be submitted via grants.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on December 16, 2016. There is no required response format. Responses must articulate an organizations capabilities, qualifications, experience, and desire to assist the global B2B program and may include any relevant informational literature, website links, references, etc. Responses (excluding attachments) may not exceed three pages.
OVBD will host a webinar on December 6th at 3 p.m. EST to provide additional information and address any questions related to this request for SOI. Please submit your questions to me by COB Friday, December 2nd, 2016, at email@example.com. These questions will be addressed during the webinar. Information, including a transcript of the webinar (once available), will be posted on grants.gov and www.sba.gov/ovbd. Please follow the submission instructions as posted on grants.gov. ...
